Alex Nsiah-Kumi, Jr

Alex’s Philosophy
“In order to look, feel, and perform your best, you must have a holistic approach to health and fitness. That means not just having strength, but having flexibility; not just having power, but having balance. It means proper rest. It means proper nutrition. It means always striving for improvement in some way or another. You may never be perfect, but that doesn’t mean you can’t strive for greatness.”

Alex’s Story
Alex’s wide-ranging clientele over the years make him the ideal trainer for just about anyone. Currently, he focuses on training older active adults, runners, triathletes, moms (pre- and post-natal), and just about anyone looking to lose weight. His passion for health and fitness coupled with his educational background (BAs in Communications and Psychology from Wheaton College) make him uniquely suited to help clients overcome their personal obstacles and achieve their fitness goals.

As a former college athlete, Alex has always placed an emphasis on health and fitness. He played basketball at Wheaton College, and he occasionally relives his former glory by dominating pickup basketball games around Chicago. Clearly, he enjoys a challenge. He’s competed in the Chicago Marathon, the Warrior Dash, the Men’s Health Urbanathalon, and Bay to Breakers in San Francisco.

Megan Mitchell

Megan’s Philosophy
“Safety first. I’ve experienced a handful of personal trainers over the years, so I know how important it is to build a strong foundation to prevent injuries. That’s why it’s important for me to keep learning and finding new strategies to help me customize workouts to help you achieve your goals in a safer, more effective way.”

Megan’s Story
Megan’s been an athlete from the start. Her father was a college basketball player. Her mother was a three-sport college athlete, and as a result, Megan also spent a good chunk of her childhood playing basketball on a homemade court and swimming laps in the family pool. In addition, she played soccer, ran track, and played basketball uber-competitively for her high school and AAU teams.

After a decade in the healthcare consulting world, Megan chose to focus her life on helping others get—and stay—fit. In 2013, she received her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Megan completed the 2010 Chicago Marathon, the 2011 Chicago Triathlon, a various other adventure races around the country.

Ryan Dobbeck

Ryan’s Philosophy

“Individualization is a must. I believe training induces adaptations that—in one way or another—help you evolve into the person you envision for yourself. If you invest your time and money into an economically sound habit, you’ll see returns every day.”

Ryan’s Story

If you want to talk about stocks and dividends, Ryan is your guy, as he holds a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. But his primary passion isn’t world markets. It’s fitness. So it’s not surprising that someone of Ryan’s pedigree excels in training highly motivated, Type-A personalities.

After all, what would you expect from someone who describes his relationship with weight training as “til death do us part”?  A jack of all trades (master of all), Ryan also enjoys playing drums, practicing movement arts, and engaging in various martial arts. He’s also a self-professed expert in blowing up balloons…but you can ask him about that one.
